The Sichuan Fire Research Institute Forensic Identification Center of MEM provides fire investigation technology training for fire and rescue brigades from Chongqing, Hebei, Sichuan, Guangdong, Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Xinjiang, Hubei, and Guizhou. Based on the practical considerations of fire and rescue, the Center has formulated multiple fire investigation training programs which stick to the needs of front-line rescue teams and to the aim of improving the training quality according to trainee's suggestions. The training includes electrical fire mechanisms, causes of frequent fires, application of fire protection codes in fire investigation, and demonstration experiments on fires caused by electrical failures (such as short circuits, leakage, phase to phase high impedance and grounding that cause fire ignition).
The training has not only received acknowledgments from fire training departments around the country at all levels, but also shown the Center's technical strength and opened a new chapter for further cooperation. On September 2, 2019, the Center signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Fire and Rescue Department of Sichuan Province and established a fire investigation training base.
Over the years, the Center has continued to fulfil its social responsibilities, and its technicians are actively cooperating with the fire services to conduct electrical fire testing on Chengdu's large commercial buildings, including the Kowloon Plaza in Chengdu's Jinjiang District, Lan Tian City Plaza Complex in Jintang County, and CapitaMall Jinniu. In addition, in order to ensure the fire safety for the Eighth Trilateral Summit Meeting among the People's Republic of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea held in 2019, the Center successfully completed the investigation of the potential electrical hazards in the meeting hall of the Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center, which contributed to the success of the Meeting.
Adhering to the core idea of 'safety and prevention first', the Center keeps pushing its research focus forward, and actively conducts research on fire prevention technology while also consolidating its first-class fire investigation technology.
Recently, the Center has furthered its exchanges and cooperation with a variety of organs and companies. For example, it has developed technology exchanges and discussions on vehicle and lithium battery safety with technicians from GAC Toyota, Zhejiang Geely Auto Group, Sichuan Camy New Energy Co., Ltd., CRRC Meishan Co., Ltd. and Tesla Automobile Sales Service Co., Ltd.. Our Center has offered relevant technical support for Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd., the Second Research Institute of CAAC, Shenzhen AIoT Technology Co., Ltd. and Midea Kitchen and Bathroom Appliance Manufacturing Co., Ltd.. Also our Center has provided technology consultation and related training on fire evidence identification for public security organs, procuratorial organs, and people’s courts at all levels including the Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department, Liangshan and Aba Autonomous Prefectures' forest public security bureau.
In its future work, the Center will continue to strengthen research on fire prevention, consolidate existing technical achievements, ceaselessly improve core competitiveness, and work with relevant organizations to further fire prevention research.
